The talented wicketkeeper-batsman had been sidelined during the Indian Premier League (IPL) earlier this year due to a thigh injury that necessitated surgery.

The Asia Cup, scheduled from August 30 to September 17, will be jointly hosted by Pakistan and Sri Lanka. India's campaign will commence on September 2 with a high-voltage clash against arch-rivals Pakistan in Kandy, followed by a match against Nepal on September 4 at the same venue.

Rahul's availability for selection is a major boost for the Indian team as he brings versatility to the batting order and adds depth to the wicketkeeping department. The 31-year-old has been actively updating fans about his progress on social media, showcasing his agility and readiness for the upcoming tournament through net practice sessions and wicketkeeping drills.
